Don’t Forget Dad! (HeartoftheMatter cross-post!)

I am the mother of eight precious children. What that means is that on any given afternoon, there might be tea and cookies. Or it could be that I’m sure that at any moment, there will be a knock on the door from a producer at TLC, offering us our own reality show. And it isn’t going to be pretty.

I had a day like that not too long ago, and when my husband got home that evening I met him at the door, gave him a smile, and handed him the baby. “Hello, honey,” I said. “It’s nice to see you today. And I’m sure it will be equally lovely to see you tomorrow. Because that’s when I plan to come out of my room.”

Sigh. Ouch. Okay, we live in the same world … except the part where I feel like I still have far more to learn than anyone on the planet! This is such a good post, Misty (yes, I read it all, even though I’m commenting here instead of where the entire post is contained). Thank you. Keep writing, dear friend! Amazing truth!

Of course you don’t have more to learn than anyone else on the planet, because I am still on the planet, too! Your sweet words mean a lot to me, especially today, sweet friend. Thank you!

  4. Misty,
I read this post on HOTM today and was absolutely blessed. I actually linked to it on my blog as I felt compelled to write about it. I had never visited your page before, but will be back!

Thank you for your wise words,
