When I read Ann Voskamp’s 1,000 Gifts this spring, I knew it was a life-changing event. My list of gifts has been a companion since then, sometimes close at hand, sometimes tucked away and pulled out only occasionally but always, I think, affecting who I am. Ultimately, I believe my heart has been remodeled as I’ve learned to see negatives in a positive light, knowing God is in control of all, and has the power to turn darkness into light. My goal at the time was to record 1,000 gifts of my own by Thanksgiving. Looks like I’ll make it!
